ABOUT US

Crest

The Chi Alpha Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) provides a social and professional fraternal experience where members are expected to maintain our values of Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality, and Excellence. We prioritize scholarship, with our chapter GPA consistently being ranked in the top 5 of all IFC fraternities. Our main philanthropic events include Puppy Run, which benefits the local Animal Shelters, as well as Fiji Island Week, a week-long philanthropic effort followed by a concert-style social event that raises money for the Red Cross through a sorority fundraising competition and the sale of tickets to the event. Our brothers come from all over the country, currently representing 19 states within the chapter, and include majors from every college department. Being a member of Phi Gamma Delta establishes a community of brothers that are not for college days alone.

FIJI nationally was founded on May 1, 1848 and the chapter was founded at Clemson University on October 15, 2015.

PHI GAMMA DELTA'S

PHILANTHROPY & HOMECOMING WEEK

As stated previously FIJI hosts many philanthropy events such as the Puppy Run that raises money for the local Animal Shelters, Island Week which raises money for the Red Cross in 2022 and multiple other stand-alone philanthropic events that we host on campus throughout the semester.

We are very active philanthropically raising nearly $30,000 annually for a variety of local and national causes.

One of the most exciting times of the year for us as a fraternity is homecoming week during the fall. Each fraternity teams up with another fraternity and one or two sororities to construct a float that encompasses them laid out by the homecoming committee. In the fall of 2021, the Chi Alpha chapter, along with Kappa Sigma and Alpha Delta Pi. teamed up to win the 2021 Homecoming Week float competition.

DUES & NEW MEMBER PERIOD

The cost to join FIJI is roughly $1500 in the new member semester. After the new member semester, the cost drops to $1000 and continues to decrease each semester.

The new member period length is 4 weeks. This means that members who receive a bid will be initiated 4 weeks after they receive and accept their bid.

HOUSING

Our fraternity provides members with 3 different housing options throughout their four years here at Clemson. The Chi Alpha Chapter has an on-campus quad spot located in Donaldson Hall that traditionally provides housing to 20 brothers at an on-campus location. We also lease 4 off-campus homes that provide housing to 22 brothers. This creates an atmosphere that is unique to Clemson’s fraternity experience.
