ABOUT US
The Alpha Eta Chapter of Beta Upsilon Chi is a chapter of the nation's largest Christian social fraternity. The purpose of Beta Upsilon Chi is to establish brotherhood and unity among college men, based on the common bond of Jesus Christ.
We are a dry fraternity and have guys of all denominations! We enjoy the aspects of a traditional fraternity like brotherhood retreats, formal, semi-formal, and national sponsored events. We also enjoy the aspects of traditional Christian organizations like regular small groups, a community rooted in faith, guys to go to church with, and much more!
Beta Upsilon Chi was nationally founded on April 27, 1985, and the Alpha Eta chapter at Clemson was on August 14, 2012.

PHILANTHROPY, COMMUNITY SERVICE & VALUES
Our philanthropy is in partnership with Open Arms Refugee Ministry, an organization that partners with churches in Clemson and surrounding areas to assist newly arriving refugee families as they integrate into American society. Volunteer opportunities are available weekly for all members.
Every year, we participate in the homecoming float build with other Greek organizations. This past year, we worked with Kappa Delta and Phi Kappa Tau to construct the award-winning fan-favorite float for the second year in a row.

DUES & NEW MEMBER PERIOD
The cost to join Beta Upsilon Chi is roughly $900 in the new member semester. Upon initiation, semesterly dues as a brother are roughly $750.
The new member process is
a purposeful and impactful experience, with an emphasis on spiritual growth while new members continue to build their relationship with Christ.
LOCAL & NATIONAL AWARDS
Beta Upsilon Chi has been chosen as the IFC Chapter of the Year for five years in a row, receiving the award in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026, respectively.
In addition, our chapter also recently received Excellence Awards in Alumni Development, Chapter Development, Fraternity and Sorority Life Involvement, Scholastic Achievement, Philanthropic Service, and Campus Involvement.

Properties
The BYX House is one of the newest fraternity houses at Clemson. Built in 2024, our 3-story property can house 16 brothers and is a common place for our chapter’s social events and bible studies. Located at 3750 Old Greenville Highway, the BYX House also has a fire pit, spacious backyard, and a stage perfect for hangouts and other social gatherings.
