Phi Delta Theta

ABOUT US

Phi Delta Theta is returning to Clemson University in Spring 2026, reestablishing the South Carolina Gamma Chapter and beginning a new chapter of brotherhood on campus. First founded on December 26, 1848, at Miami University in Ohio, Phi Delta Theta is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected fraternities, built on a legacy of strong values and lifelong friendship.

Originally founded at Clemson in 1970, Phi Delta Theta is coming back with a renewed vision and the opportunity for members to help shape the future of the chapter from the ground up. Guided by the core values of Friendship, Sound Learning, and Rectitude, Phi Delta Theta emphasizes personal growth, academic excellence, and integrity in all aspects of fraternity life.

WHY PHI DELTA THETA?

Phi Delta Theta offers a unique opportunity to gain real leadership experience by helping rebuild and shape a returning chapter from the ground up. As a founding member, you’ll take on meaningful roles, develop leadership skills, and leave a lasting impact on the future of the fraternity at Clemson.

Dues and New Member Process

Chapter dues for the spring semester are $125, which covers the required national fee; additional chapter dues are to be determined. Phi Delta Theta’s four-week, values-based new member process focuses on leadership development, brotherhood, and personal growth.

Philanthropy

Phi Delta Theta proudly supports the Live Like Lou Foundation, a national philanthropy dedicated to raising awareness and funding for ALS research. Through campus events, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement, members work to honor the legacy of Lou Gehrig by making a meaningful impact while promoting service, unity, and compassion within the fraternity and beyond.
